Mixed results

I had very specific goals in mind for this series. I wanted precise, black and white photography. I wanted energy and color. And I wanted iconically beautiful subject matter, to the point of almost seeming cliché.

I spent a great deal of time researching digital output methods, as well as paints with necessary translucency and weight - in fact, I think I spent more time with research than I actually spent creating the art. In the end, I was really happy with the contrasts that took shape.

The final pieces (eight total) for this series were displayed at the Gachet show in 2008-9.
